Aftermath

I want to admit that my life is a mess at the moment. I’ve been trying to stay calm but I think I have reached my limit and I seriously need to fix it. It is hard to admit that it is my rejection period in terms of work because I can’t seem to land a job at a time I need it the most. I’m not boasting when I say this but I’m one of those people who gets a job in the blink of an eye but right now I think the universe had turned 180 and for some godforsaken reason it isn’t happening. That is what I am trying to tell myself but deep down I feel totally different. I’m still terribly upset about my accident that took place two months ago because I still haven’t recovered completely. For those of you who don’t know please read the previous post and come back and read this.

Well, I honestly think that my face is my strength and that’s the area where I got hurt which has affected my self-esteem and I’m still trying to cope with it. I am sick of everyone telling me ‘it’ll heal soon’ and ‘don’t worry’ but moreover I am tired of telling myself that I still look and be the same when I know I’ve changed after the accident. I can’t kid myself anymore and I just want to be fine. I am not giving up on myself but I just need a break. I know it was my fault what happened to me and sometimes I wonder if it will hut less if I blame something else for it but I know I’ll just feel worse, mainly because a chunk of my memory from that evening has been erased. I am scared piece because in order to find that missing piece I need to relive the moment in my mind and I’m not strong enough for it yet. I dislike myself for being so weak at a time that I need to be the strongest and it is very unlike me.

Among other things, when I was lying in the hospital bed I have realized that family means a lot more than anything in the world and at that moment I wanted nothing more than home. I’m glad that my sister and brother in law were there to look after me and I’m proud to say that my sister is my rock. The number of times I have screwed up and she’s still got my back and I love her for that. I said that to explain that in today’s world we forget what family means because we are engrossed in our friends and work and we make that our priority, which isn’t bad, but we don’t appreciate the love and support of our family. Some of us don’t have the luxury to make rock solid friends and we tend to change ourselves for them in order to fit in.

What bewilders me is the fact that we refuse to change for those who love us conditionally and instead we change for those who are most likely to dump our sorry asses….

BAD NEWS AND HAUL

I hope your holidays were filled with fun unlike mine! I met with a terrible accident when I was on a vacation (just perfect) which was a horrible experience because I hurt my face really bad. I was in Bangalore visiting my big sister and old friends during Christmas leave. I had spent the first three days with my sister shopping and everything was peachy. Then came Christmas eve, dooms day, I met my friends at a pub and hung out there for a couple of hours. One of my best friends offered to drop me home on his scooty and we left. On the way, somehow, I blacked out and fell off the bike on the right side of my face. I was rushed to the hospital and had my surgery the next day which was 25th December (Christmas present for me). I had to get plastic surgery only WITHOUT new skin, instead they used collagen which feels like plastic to cover my wounds. Apart from that I have stitches inside my upper and lower lip which is just as bad. Anyway, I’m much better now and my skin seems to healing quite well so hopefully I’ll be able to put makeup soon. But before this happened I got a couple of clothes and makeup products that I haven’t gotten around to using and I can’t wait.

I had planned to wear this sexy shift dress on New Year’s but that didn’t happen. So..I will just have to wait. I quite like the print and the silhouette is very different from what I would usually wear.

I have actually worn this adorable cardigan twice and it looks really cute on. The color is a change from my usual black wardrobe and the fit is perfect.

These leggings are freaking awesome! I fell in love the minute I laid my eyes on them on the mannequin and I just HAD to get them.  How can you not love that print?

These shorts were just something I randomly picked up for my workouts. Nothing special, just cute color combination.

I ordered this bag from http://www.myntra.com/ after I had come back home and was on house arrest and needed to get something to cheer up a little. The material is patent leather and I needed s sling back to carry to parties.

NOW the fun part! MAKEUP stuff...one can never have enough :)

1. MAC SUDIO MOISTURE CREAM
2. MAC SMOLDER KOHL
3. NYX MATTE in SHOCKING PINK
4. LAKME ABSOLUTE SHINE LINE in GOLD
5. COLORBAR EYE SHADOW in SUGARLAND
6. RIMMEL APOCALIPS in STELLAR 501

Cheers!

M.A.C Studio Moisture Cream

I recently bought a couple of products from MAC and I usually don’t buy products specifically for my face but this time I decided I should. I realized I only use an aloe gel instead of a moisturizer on my face so I went ahead and bought MAC Studio Moisturize Cream. This cream is meant for oily skin which suits me and helps hydrate your skin and he helps your makeup stay on longer. It is exactly like MAC Studio Fix mist but in cream form because Studio Fix is mainly to hydrate dry skin. They both work like magic!

The packaging is standard MAC-like: black and white with M.A.C embossed on the box. The lid has a non-slippery rubber texture. It is simple and chic. The cream smells very much like studio fix with the floral scent and a hint of green tea. I’m incapable of recognizing scents and that’s the reason I never go by myself to buy perfumes.

The texture of MAC Studio Moisture Cream is:

  • Non-greasy
  • Light
  • Absorbs quickly
  • Leaves skin feeling smooth and baby-soft

One thing that really caught my attention is the fact that it doesn’t make my T- zone oily later in the day which is amazing because I hate when that happens. A lot of creams promise to keep your skin matte and end up disappointing but not this beauty.

MAC Studio Moisture Cream cost Rs. 2100/- and is totally worth it and you can buy it at any MAC store.

Would I repurchase? – ABSOLUTELY!

BB CREAM REVIEWS

FIRST!!!!!!! I’d like to bring to your attention that I have started making YouTube videos where I upload GetReadyWithMe videos. It isn’t great because I don’t have a decent camera at the moment so I have to film from my phone BUT I’ll get a good one soon and then it’ll be FULL on. YOU CAN SUBSCRIBE HERE  and make sure you follow me on INSTAGRAM HERE where I upload “Today’s look” every alternate days. :)

Aaaand like most of you I am LOVING BB creams this summer because my foundation does not stay on my face in this heat! AAARGGHHH yes Delhi summers *thumbs down* GO AWAY! I planned to do a quick review on some of the BB creams I have tried and which one I personally love!

1.)    MAYBELLINE CLEAR GLOW BB CREAM

This was the first BB cream I tried and I honestly didn’t like it very much. I used it for a couple of days before realizing that it isn't really that good. But my oily skin might be the reason I am not a fan of it because it makes it oilier. I have heard it is good for dry skin. But I personally would not recommend it. THUMBS DOWN.

2.)    LOTUS SAFE SUN 3-in-1 MATTE LOCK DAILY SUNBLOCK

Okay this was not really on my list of BB creams but I used it for a bit because it is a tinted moisturizer and I wanted a change from the Maybelline one. It is creamy in consistency but not oily and absorbs quite quickly but coverage wise it lacks. Lotus was probably better but I had to be extra careful while getting the product out because it would literally squirt out a huge amount (it is difficult to put it back in). But yes, I still use it a couple of times and I got more of it so THUMBS UP.

3.)    GARNIER BB CREAM

I DON’T like it one bit. I got another tube before actually analyzing the results carefully and i regret that decision. I faced the same trouble with this like the Maybelline one. But if you are under the sun a lot, I honestly DON’T recommend Garnier BB cream because it just makes your skin oily and your face look muddy. THUMBS DOWN.

44.)    POND’S WHITE BEAUTY BB+

LOOOOOVE IT! It does not make my skin oily and it is creamy (not oily) in consistency which is perfect for my skin type and gives beautiful coverage. I like the packaging and the quantity of the product. I absolutely love how it makes my skin feel and look.THUMBS UP.

Have a Great day :)

Nails This Summer

Hi everyone!

I know I haven't uploaded anything for a whole month but that's because I have been busy. Well, I finally realized that it's time to post something. It is just getting hotter everyday but thank GOD it rained today while I was taking a nap. So it is a little cooler. YAY!

Okay, let me warn you I have really tiny and weak nails that tend to break every chance they get. But that doesn't stop me from applying pretty nail paints. Below are some shades of summer. I'll probably upload more regularly on my instagram @midnightshine786 (follow me now!).

NewU nail paints: 15 NEON(pink) and 17 COFFEE GLITTER

FACES: 43 PASTEL MOOV

FACES: GRAPE ESCAPE 26

Thanks for reading!

Summer Favourites

Hi everyone!

It has become pretty hot out here and I just shopped for a few things to beat the heat. Basically, I needed to shop to prevent my outburst. The heat gets to me real bad sometimes and shopping calms my nerves! It really does (more given below). Also, I have really bad nails. They are so brittle and I have given up trying to fix them. I have tried gazillion things to make them strong but in vain. So, I decided to give artificial nails a try. I always wanted long nails so I'm gonna take a shot at it, even if it means being a little "fake".

My favourite shades of Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter (which have been discontinued, sadly). These shades make my summer SO much better!

1.) Sweet Tart 060
2.) Pink Truffle 001
3.) Candy Apple 035

1.) Vitamin E Hydrating Toner and Cocoa Butter Body Scrub by TBS
2.) Colorbar Lipstick in Fushia Fix 1 (matt finish)
3.) Artificial nails by Faces (apparently they change color in the sun, will tell you once I try)
4.) Park Avenue Beer Shampoo ( I CANNOT wait to try this)

That's it...For now!

Have a great summer y'all

OOTD: Black & Yellow

Hey everyone,

Summer is here with unpredictable rains. Weird weather which is making everyone sick, including me (like my allergies weren't enough). Still we are making it through the day and doing our thing. I think professionally, things seem brighter. I have had my hands full with photo shoots and college for the past week. Pictures will be up soon because you HAVE to see how the photographer was able to make me look like a total rockstar. But for now, OOTD!

Have fun :)

Top: OVS
Pants: LEVIS STRAUSS
Belt: Street shop
Necklace: MAX
Shoes: CATWALK
Sunglasses: Supermarket

Notice two things: I like to stay comfortable with my style during college hours AND I find some of my accessories in the places I least expect them to find.

OOTD: Oxford Bling

Hi everyone,

I've been having a little trouble deciding the name for my blog for a while now. For some reason I changed it and then changed it AGAIN and now I'm back to what I started with. I am telling you this because sometimes you might doubt yourself like I just did and try to change in the process of comparing yourself with others. Don't do it. Don't second guess yourself, it just makes things worse. What makes you special is 'you'.

Time for OOTD

Dress: SN
Shoes: Zara
Watch: Fastrack
Spike bracelet: Colaba
Lipstick: Maybelline 14hr in Non-Stop Red 510

I found the dress while street shopping and I had have a mind to buy it because I would 5 other girls wearing the same thing but I couldn't leave it there. Its cute :)

Esmeralda with Akanksha Redhu

Hi everyone,

I went to a launch 'Conversations with Esmeralda' by CIRARE created by Akanshka Redhu- A collection of bags so divine it took my breathe away. Beach prints, paint splatter and sequined work in this collection are extraordinary. I almost cried because I couldn't get one, but I will, soon. I loved everything about this day because it was a big step for me to interact with fashion bloggers. What made this day perfect was that my girls were with me.

The store name is SECOND FLOOR STUDIO, located in Khan Market, New Delhi. There were other beautiful accessories along with her collection.

OOTD: Casual

Hi everyone,

Summer is here and I should probably ditch my jeans but where I live, it isn't exactly easy to do that. So I try to work my way around it. So I recently went out with the girls on a hot and cold day and I didn't want to bare it all. Check it out.

Fedora: Jack&Jones
Razor back top: Peter England
Scarf: A cut-up dupatta
Shoes: North Star

The shoes don't exactly make a fashion statement but they are SO comfy, especially when lot of walking is required. I am not a ballet flats person, somehow they don't like me, because I have had really BAD experience with them. Gladiators, heels and converse are my thing and I shall stick to them.
I would've liked to wear shorts instead of jeans but like I mentioned, NOT the area where one can flaunt.

Excuse the blur pictures, something was up with my camera that day.

xoxo
